Our Approach

Systems change doesn’t start with a strategy. It starts with listening.

At the Centre for Inclusive Social Development (CISD)

We don’t just respond to problems—we go deeper. We ask what created the problem, who benefits from its persistence, and how people experiencing it every day have already started solving it.

We believe change is not a one-size-fits-all model—it’s context-driven, community-informed, and deeply behavioral. Whether we’re working on tax justice, civic tech, or women’s livelihoods, our approach is anchored in three pillars:

Whether we’re holding town halls in remote LGAs or hosting innovation labs in Abuja, our goal remains the same: make governance work for people. All people.

People-First Systems Thinking

We connect the dots between individual experiences and systemic failures. Then we work with communities to build solutions that don’t just treat symptoms but challenge the structures that created them.

Behavioral & Institutional Reform

Change doesn’t happen just because new policies are passed. It happens when institutions shift how they operate and when people shift how they engage. We use behavioral insights to bridge this gap—designing programs that make the right thing easier to do.

Co-Creation, Not Consultation

We don’t “carry communities along”—we start with them. From ideation to design to evaluation, our programs are built with those most affected by the issues. Inclusion isn’t the end goal; it’s the process.
